Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to provide?
For Self-Hosted: a Contabo API token, a Tailscale auth key, and an AI API key (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.). For Managed: just a Tailscale auth key and AI API key — we handle the VPS.
Are my API keys safe?
Yes. Your API keys are stored locally on your machine and never transmitted to our servers. The desktop app communicates directly with your VPS via encrypted Tailscale tunnels.
Can I switch between plans?
Yes. You can upgrade from Self-Hosted to Managed at any time. Downgrading from Managed to Self-Hosted involves migrating your VPS to your own Contabo account.
How long does provisioning take?
About 2-3 minutes thanks to our snapshot-based provisioning. The VPS comes pre-configured with Docker, Tailscale, and the agent runtime.
What happens if I cancel?
Your subscription remains active until the end of the billing period. After that, agents are stopped (not deleted). You can resubscribe to resume them.
Is there a free trial?
You can set up your first agent and exchange messages before the paywall activates. This lets you experience the full product before committing.
